Mischa Kahns Minneslöpning: Bullet Bling in front all the way

Bullet Bling took the lead from the start and never gave it up in the Mischa Kahns Minneslöpning, where he won by nearly two lengths. It was the third win of the career for Niels Petersen’s three-year-old colt, who was fourth in the Svenskt Derby earlier this year.

The Mischa Kahns Minneslöpning over 1600 metres on the dirt track had 225.000 Swedish kronor on offer, was confined to three-year-olds and had four runners.

Carlos Lopez took the lead resolutely with Bullet Bling (Violence) and then followed the rails all the way. Ferrari BF (Mo Town), the highest rated in the field on 89, sat behind the leader and made an attempt in the middle of the straight, but Bullet Bling defended himself and won by nearly two lengths.

Behind them it was a long way back to U S Goldtown (Speightstown) and Lamnol (Oasis Dream).

“Bullet Bling was quite keen from the start. He is a horse with a lot of American blood who likes a strong pace, so I let him gallop on. Both the distance and the surface suited him perfectly, and he will only get better next year”, said Carlos Lopez.

Back in his right element

Bullet Bling won on his debut in the Skånelandlöpning last year. This year he was fourth in the Svenskt Derby and seventh in the Norwegian version, and Sunday’s win was his third from seven starts. He has earned 465.000 Swedish kronor, is owned by Bling Enterprise and was bred by Ringfort Stud.

“With hindsight it was probably a little wrong to take him up to the Derby distance. Over 1600 metres on the dirt track he is in his right element”, said Niels Petersen.

The day gave Bling Enterprise and Niels Petersen both this win and second place in the biggest race of the day, where Inzain Bling (Hello Youmzain) finished runner-up in the Mr Ascot Vinterfavoriternas Pris.

A photo finish in the last race of the day

The Novisserien häck final over 3450 metres was decided between three horses.

Ghost Town (Go Go Gadget) led the field until barely a circuit from home, when Yobro (Al Wukair) moved up and put pressure on the leader from the outside.

From there the two fought side by side over the last five hurdles, and the battle to the line was so close that it had to be settled by the photo.

Yobro was first by a neck in 4.07,9, and five lengths back came Lionell (Appel Au Maitre).

“After several thirds in earlier years it feels good that Yobro finally got a win. Now we will reload for next season”, said Sigyn Dysell.

The five-year-old gelding has 32 starts and six wins behind him, but this was his first over obstacles. He met with 65 kilos against Ghost Town’s 73.
