Jan-Erik Neuroth’s 2-year-old Charlie Nosto took his third win in a row at home at Øvrevoll on Sunday, when with Nora Hagelund Holm on his back he made all in the Norsk Galopp Oppdrettsløp with NOK 70,000 in first prize.
The son of Mutajally had been backed into hot favouritism at 14:10 and never made his supporters nervous. He won in the end by almost five lengths from Zelda (Hurricane Red) and Miss Hurricane (Quarterback).
Charlie Nosto is owned by Harry Nilsen and was bred by Stall Elvis. It was the horse’s third win from five starts, and the third in a row in the hands of Nora Holm.
Sunday’s second main event was likewise reserved for the Norwegian-breds, and here the Niels Petersen-trained Shazam Bling (Elzaam) won comfortably by a length from Sticky Chance (Sporting Chance).
Shazam Bling was ridden to victory by Evelina Rönnlund, is owned by Bling Enterprise and was bred by Knut O. Arnesen and Black Moon Breeding.
The first prize was worth NOK 68,250.
Later Bling Enterprise rounded off the day with another winner, this time provided by Annike Bye Hansen and Elione Chaves.
The 2-year-old Siouxperb Bling (Sioux Nation) shed her maiden tag by two lengths over 1600 metres ahead of Cathrine Erichsen’s Miss Alti (Lucky Vega) and Lise Tandberg’s Kawaii Ne (Kodi Bear).
It was also a second winner of the day for Annike Bye Hansen and Elione Chaves, who had begun with the 8-year-old Youonlyliveonce (Sidestep) in the Albaran Elitehandicap.
