Why did you start with thoroughbred racing?
I got into thoroughbred racing when I visited family in Ireland on my summer holidays. We would go to the Galway races and it was there I had a dream of being a jockey, and I was perfectly build for it.
What do you think is the best about racing?
The best thing about racing is riding a winner or to be associated with a winning horse. You feel like the hard work has paid off, but simply galloping nice horses is a great feeling.
What are your strengths?
I’m hard working and a good horseman.

It is winter and cold in Scandinavia. A lot of riders go abroad – what about you?
I’m staying in Scandinavia for the winter. Søren Jensen has a big team of horses and lots of two-year-olds to prepare. There is a lot to look forward to for the coming season.
What is your favorite dish?
My favourite dish is Madras curry

Which is the best horse you have ridden in training or in races?
I was lucky enough to ride some top-class horses working for John Gosden. In Scandinavia I would say King David was the best. He has a great turn of foot.
If you could choose whatever horse in the whole world to ride, which one would it be and why?
I would definitely choose to ride Frankel. He was a machine and made good Group 1 horses look very ordinary!

Do you have any goals for 2019?
My goal for 2019 is to ride as many winners as I can.
Three short questions
Winx or Enable
I would go for Enable. I think the European Group 1’s have more quality. She has won in 4 different countries against strong opposition. For a filly to win back to back Arcs is special. However for any racehorse to win 28 races in a row is incredible.
Scandinavia or United Kingdom?
I will always love the U.K as it’s my home, but I have met some great people in Scandinavia and there is a relaxed way of life here.
Sunshine or winter holiday?
Sunshine holiday in the Mediterranean.
