Niels Petersen and Carlos Lopez won three of Sunday’s feature races at Jägersro. Lord Mountbatten (Connect) defended his title in Peas And Carrots Mile (L) by eight lengths, Soulofchess (Gutaifan) did the same in Malmö Hösthandicap, and the two-year-old filly Epic Bling (War Front) took Stig Holms Pokal on her debut.
The day opened with Peas And Carrots Mile (L), where only four went to post, but where the highest-rated horse on the card lined up.
Lord Mountbatten won by eight lengths from stablemate Be Curious (U S Navy Flag), so it was a double for Niels Petersen.
Annike Bye Hansen’s Hawaii Five O (Kameko) was third, and Zidane (Areion) fourth.

The five-year-old horse won the same race a year ago, that time by six lengths, and Niels Petersen has now won Peas And Carrots Mile (L) four times.
It is Lord Mountbatten’s second Listed win of the year after Valley Chapel Memorial on Jägersro’s Derby day in July. The first prize was SEK 100,000 to Danish FTHK Racing.
Soulofchess defended his title
Malmö Hösthandicap also went to a defending winner.
Soulofchess held Francisco Castro’s Wasp (Profitable) at bay by a short head, and the six-year-old gelding thereby won the race for the second year running with Carlos Lopez in the saddle. Tord Nilsson’s Kinsman (Exceed And Excel) was third.

The win came the day after the horse’s owner, Morten Aspelund, passed away. Carlos Lopez pointed to the sky as he rode back towards the winner’s circle, while Niels Petersen was deeply affected by grief and had to pause during the winning interview with TV4.
Morten Aspelund is also behind Lady Irene (Study Of Man), who has won both the Danish Oaks and Svenskt Oaks this year. If she wins Norsk Oaks, she will be the first filly ever to win all three Scandinavian Oaks.
Nine lengths in Stig Holms Pokal
The stable’s third feature win of the day came in Stig Holms Pokal for two-year-old fillies, where Epic Bling (War Front) won by nine lengths from Hans-Inge Larsen’s Inns Of Magic (Inns of Court).
Veronika Jandová’s Zamanta (War Front) was third — by the same sire as the winner.
Niels Petersen also had Centurion Bling (Twirling Candy) third in the closing maiden race and Galactico Bling (Galileo) fourth in SFK Jubileumslöpning (L).
