The last feature of Stockholm Cup day went to the youngest in the field. Mehmas Air Force (Mehmas) won the Lanwades Stud Stakes (L) over 1600 metres by a length.
Per-Anders Gråberg rode her, and behind her two Danish threads reached the frame: Søren Jensen-trained Sunday Fudge (Reliable Man) was second for Lulu Tøpholm’s L.T. Racing with Jacob Johansen, and from the same yard Taifuu (Japan) followed in fourth under Oliver Wilson. Between them came Väsby Häst AB’s Meelaf (Iffraaj) with Nicolaj Stott.
For Mehmas Air Force it was revenge. On 23 August she was beaten half a length in the Lanwades Stud Fillies & Mares Stakes (L) at Øvrevoll, and on Sunday she took the Swedish version instead.

She has now won five of her 13 starts, and before that came a run of three in a row in the spring and early summer: a novice race at Jägersro in May, a three-year-old race at Klampenborg in June by six lengths, and finally the Norwegian 1000 Guineas at Øvrevoll on 2 July.
There was also a score to settle from the very meeting where she last faced the older mares. On 12 July she was sixth in the Margareta Wettermarks Minneslöpning at Jägersro, which was won by Easywithme (El Kabeir) — on Sunday Niels Petersen-trained Easywithme finished last of the 10.

Mehmas Air Force runs for Stall Gransäter and was bred by Tally-Ho Stud. She began her career in England, where last October she won a nursery handicap on all-weather, before joining Lennart Reuterskiöld Jr. at Jägersro.
Behind the first four came Capitana Bling (Invincible Army), Zarina (Appel Au Maitre), Bang A Boomerang (Zaahid), Irish Lioness (Invincible Army) and Siouxperb Bling (Sioux Nation) ahead of Easywithme.
