Goffs: Galileo and Dubawi headline November Foals

The only Galileo foal to be offered at public auction in Ireland or the UK this year is among a world class catalogue for Goffs November Foal Sale which takes place over five days from Monday 16 – Friday 20 November. The catalogue of 1203 foals is now available online at goffs.com and the published edition will be available from 15 October.

Superb sires:

Goffs November Foal Sale regularly attracts the best foals by the best sires, as was illustrated once again in 2014 when Goffs sold the highest priced foals by several leading sires including Galileo, Lope de Vega, New Approach, Dark Angel and Born To Sea, while a new record price was set for the €1.8m sales topping Frankel foal (picutred).

Top sires Galileo and Dubawi are represented this year by a pair of headliners that include a  Galileo brother to Group 2 Railway Stakes winner and sire Lilbourne Lad (Lot 1182) from Swordlestown Little, and a son of Dubawi out of Irish 1000 Guineas winner Nighttime (Lot 1129) from The Castlebridge Consignment.

The diverse stallion profile in this year’s catalogue also includes impressive drafts from Acclamation, Born To Sea, Cape Cross, Casamento, Dark Angel, Excelebration, Fastnet Rock, High Chaparral, Invincible Spirit, Kodiac, Lawman, Kyllachy, Lope De Vega, Mastercraftsman, Nathaniel, New Approach, Oasis Dream, Raven’s Pass, Sea The Stars, Shamardal, Showcasing, Teofilo, and Zoffany amongst many others.

First crop foals feature strongly throughout with a hotly anticipated sire list that includes Camelot, Dawn Approach, Declaration Of War, Epaulette, Farhh, Havana Gold, Intello, Cityscape, Lethal Force, Maxios, Most Improved, Reckless Abandon, Red Jazz, Society Rock, Swiss Spirit, Tough As Nails, and Worthadd.

More Stakes winners…

As well as regularly topping the pinhooking profit tables, Goffs foals also win more Stakes races than any other European foal sale.  In the past three years, Goffs have sold more Stakes winners from the November Foal Sale, including several Group 1 winners, and all from smaller catalogues.

Some of Europe’s leading two year olds this season are November Foal Sale graduates including Derby favourite and recent Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes winner Foundation (pictured); Gutaifan who won both the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes and Group 2 Robert Papin; and Ribchester winner of the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes – as well as Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes and Group 2 Hungerford Stakes winner Adaay, and Group 2 Celebration Mile winner Kodi Bear.

Commenting on the quality of this year’s catalogue, Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:

“The Goffs November Foal Sale has become the clear first choice for so many leading breeders in recent years and is the obvious first stop for pinhookers from home and abroad is it offers superior quality and depth, this year across five days.

It is also an unmissable date for many leading racehorse owners as it so regularly proves to be the source of top class winners all over the world with some exciting two year olds of 2015 following in the footsteps of a plethora of Group 1 stars in recent years. We are particularly excited by this year’s quality catalogue drawn from Ireland’s leading breeders and look forward to welcoming another international group of buyers who will look to take advantage of the unbeatable quality and value offered at Goffs November”.
