Taifuu back with a bang in the Bet25 Larch Ærespræmie

Michael Jakobsen and Peter Rasmussen’s Taifuu made her comeback after a lengthy injury break and won the Bet25 Larch Ærespræmie, beating the hot favourite Bruce Almighty by three-quarters of a length under jockey Oliver Wilson.

The three-year-old filly secured the first prize of DKK 100,000. Stutteri Hjortebo recorded a double in the race, having bred both the winner Taifuu and the runner-up Bruce Almighty.

Earlier this year Taifuu had landed two big-race wins at Bro Park and a victory in the Mawj Stakes at Meydan. After returning home from Dubai, she suffered a strained muscle that kept her out of both the Mowerinaløb and the Svenskt 1000 Guineas.

Third place went to the Jessica Long-trained Dancingonarainbow, followed by Taifuu’s stablemate Vincenzo and Magic Cat.

The win served as trainer Søren Jensen’s dress rehearsal ahead of his greater triumph later the same evening with Cosmopolitan in the Danish Derby.
