Klampenborg is ready for another cracker of a Scandinavian big-race day on Saturday – this time with the Danish Oaks and the Herman Sallings Mindeløb Dansk Kriterium as the headline events. 14 fillies were declared on Monday morning for the Danish Oaks, while the two-year-olds’ Criterium has drawn a full house of 15 runners.
The Danish Oaks over 2400 metres has attracted candidates from all over Scandinavia. From Norway, Niels Petersen comes with Lady Irene (Study Of Man), who won the Svenskt Oaks at Jägersro just under a month ago.
Also on the Petersen lorry to the same race are Bahia Mar (Swipe) and Jazz (Juniper Tree), while Jan-Erik Neuroth, likewise from Øvrevoll, sends Nouvelle Fleur (Study Of Man).
From Gothenburg comes Tobias Hellgren with Tarantina (In Swoop), while Jägersro is represented by Jessica Long’s Tintarella Di Luna (Camelot) and Lennart J:r Reuterskiöld’s Modesty (Sea The Moon).
The Odense team consists of Sarah Langholm Hornstrup’s Vittoria (Gale Force Ten) and Tina Mortensen’s Red Moondancer (Appel Au Maitre), and from Aarhus Lea Olsen sends her duo of Lady Medina (Appel Au Maitre) and Eden Roc (Appel Au Maitre).
Finally, the Klampenborg home team is made up of Søren Jensen’s Nevermore (Gleneagles) plus Kajsa Lindsjö’s duo of Melania (Moohaajim) and Wonder Life (Lope Y Fernandez).
In the Herman Sallings Mindeløb Dansk Kriterium over 1400 metres, Bettina Andersen’s Produce Stakes winner La Belle Appelée (Appel Au Maitre) is back, and she will cross swords with another former winner in Lady Nicole (Wooded) as well as Søren Jensen’s Goffs Futurity Stakes third Mallee Sand (Footstepsinthesand).
Ladies’ Day at Klampenborg also features the Racing Club Klampenborg Racing Bowl and the Taittinger Skandinavisk Ladies Cup.
