Four horses shared first place: Elkær Stutteri’s Fuldblods Fond pays out DKK 275,000

The Grand Slam series ended with four horses level on points, and their owners each receive DKK 43,750 — Viktors Dream won without running

Elkær Stutteri’s Fuldblods Fond has settled its two series for 2026, and DKK 275,000 is to be paid out. In the Grand Slam series the fund could not name a single winner: four horses finished on exactly the same points and share DKK 175,000 between them.

Both series were decided in a final of their own at Klampenborg on Saturday 26 September. They are run over four legs, with 60 points to the winner of each leg, 25 to the runner-up and 15 to the third horse, and it was that last leg that produced the unusual finish in one of them.

Only Garlic turned up

The Patriot, Garlic and Sea The Sunrise had each won a leg and stood on 60 points when the field went to post in the Grand Slam final. Of the three, only Garlic took part, and he finished fifth. The other two stayed at home.

Instead a fourth horse appeared out of nowhere. Classic Blaze had not scored a single point in the series, but the three-year-old son of Go Go Gadget won the final with Nicolaj Stott in the saddle — against older horses in class 2 — and those 60 points brought him exactly level with the three who had led the series all the way.

That left four horses on 60 points.

Elkær Stutteri’s Fuldblods Fond has divided DKK 175,000 equally between the winners’ owners, so Peter Johansen (The Patriot), Mme Fernande (Garlic), Healthy Horse (Sea The Sunrise) and Kenneth Hansen & Gitte Wolle (Classic Blaze) each receive DKK 43,750.

The four trainers — Tina Mortensen, Lea Olsen, Sandie Kjær and Rikke Rohbach Bonde — each receive DKK 4,375 as the trainer’s percentage.

Won without running

In the three-year-old series the picture was quite different. Viktors Dream had won two of the legs and stood on 120 points, and that lead was big enough for him to win the series without taking part in the final. His owners, Niels Jørgen Bønlykke and Flemming Viktor, receive DKK 50,000.

The final itself went to Don Torkdahl, who with Anna Pilroth in the saddle went from 25 to 85 points and so secured second place in the series and DKK 25,000. Entends finished third in the overall standings on 60 points, outside the prize money.

Both of the three-year-olds in the money are trained by Lea Olsen, and the trainer’s percentage in that series is paid as a single sum of DKK 7,500 to her.

Add the DKK 4,375 for Garlic, and Lea collects DKK 11,875 of the two series’ trainers’ percentages.

The three-year-old series comes to DKK 82,500, and the two series together to DKK 275,000.
