Bushwacker (Supremacy) won Sunday’s Rosengårdlöpning over 1200 metres at Jägersro and thereby added the autumn sprint pot to the Derby Day Sprint he won at the same track in July. Per-Anders Gråberg rode, and Lennart J:r Reuterskiöld won the race for the second year running.
The margin was a neck to Annika Sjökvist’s Golden Grace (Jimmy Mack), and from there it was just under three lengths back to Francisco Castro’s Papa Joe (Kodi Bear).
The first prize was SEK 112,500.
The three-year-old colt came to Sweden from England, where he ran four times last year and twice finished second by a head.
This year he has won five of his seven Swedish starts: the maiden in May by twelve lengths, The Shelby Family Trophy by six, a three-year-old race in July by a length and a half, the Derby Day Sprint by just under three — and now Rosengårdlöpning. In between came a second in a Class 2 handicap in August.
Bushwacker is owned by Danish JWC Bloodstock and was bred by Yeomanstown Stud. Lennart J:r Reuterskiöld also won Rosengårdlöpning last year with Abby (Appel Au Maitre).
Flemming Poulsen’s Entends (Yafta) was fourth, and Rikke Rohbach Bonde’s Sir Pablo (Magician) fifth.
