The Jan-Erik Neuroth-trained Schamyl, who in 2024 won the Svenskt Derby, the Norsk Derby, the Svenskt St. Leger, the Breeders’ Trophy Classic and the Voterlöpning, makes a long-awaited comeback at Øvrevoll on Thursday evening. The son of Appel Au Maitre runs in the Eliteløp over 2460 metres and is ridden for the first time by Oliver Wilson.

Schamyl passed four million Norwegian kroner in his classic season, and he has so far won seven of his 11 starts. Because of an injury, on the other hand, he has not run since his win in the Svenskt St. Leger on 28 September 2024.
Schamyl’s rivals on Thursday evening include the Marit Sveaas (Gr.3) winner Simply Minds (Belardo), the Derby runner-up Kjell Hroar (Zoffany) plus Redirect (Prince Of Lir) and My French Dream (Myboycharlie).
The Eliteløp is run as the first contest on Thursday, with the start at 5 pm.
