Friday and Saturday proved quite eventful for Lulu Tøpholm, who landed the BBAG Auktionsrennen at Cologne with the two-year-old Killian, a one-two in the Odense Milen with Royal Dane and Alakay, and a triumph in Doncaster’s PJ Towey Handicap with the five-year-old Thunder Run, whom she owns in partnership with JWC Bloodstock.
Thunder Run (Night Of Thunder) is trained by Karl Burke and was a clear favourite for Saturday’s valuable handicap at Doncaster. Carrying top weight, the chestnut gelding also scored comfortably by more than a length in the hands of Clifford Lee, picking up a first prize of £36,078.
It was the first win of the season for Thunder Run, who was most recently just held in second in another big handicap at York.
