After winning a maiden at the first attempt a month ago, the Baagøe Schou family’s three-year-old filly Rabbit’s Foot was sent straight into Listed company at Toulouse on Sunday. And Rabbit’s Foot increased her value considerably by winning the 1600-metre Prix Caravelle.

The Golden Horde filly won comfortably by a length and a half in the hands of Maxime Guyon, and she collected a first prize of €48,125 in total once the French owners’ bonus is included.
Even more important, though, is the black type itself, which in Rabbit’s Foot’s case contributes significantly to her broodmare value, as she is already a half-sister to Zarakem (Zarak), who last year won the Prix d’Harcourt (Gr.2) at Longchamp and was later second behind Auguste Rodin (Deep Impact) in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (Gr.1) at Royal Ascot.
Rabbit’s Foot is trained by Francois Rohaut and cost €50,000 as a yearling at Arqana’s October Yearling Sale, where Carsten Baagøe Schou acquired her through agent Ghislain Bozo’s Meridian International.
