Two years ago the Fredrik Reuterskiöld-trained Lamborghini BF won the Derby Day Sprint, but last year he had to settle for second in the Zawawi Cup (L) behind his rival Aurinko. In the 2026 edition of the Zawawi Cup (L) there was never any doubt about the outcome, and the top sprinter secured the first prize of SEK 350,000 for Hästgruppen i Lund AB.
Lamborghini BF (Holy Roman Emperor) was ridden to a comfortable length win by Elione Chaves, and the pair beat the Niels Petersen-trained Soulofchess (Gutaifan) and Tord Nilsson’s Kinsman (Exceed And Excel), while Abby (Appel Au Maitre) was fourth ahead of Aurinko (Karakontie) and Crystal Love (Oasis Dream).
Lamborghini BF was the hot favourite in the tradition-rich sprint contest, and he has now won 11 of his 17 career starts, for total earnings of SEK 1,842,776.
It was also the horse’s fourth consecutive win since returning from his winter stay in Dubai, where he managed just one start, finishing seventh.
In his last three starts, Lamborghini BF has won the Jägersro Sprint (L), the Bro Park Vårsprint (L) and now the Zawawi Cup (L).
